Sunday 29th September, Introduction to Hill Walking

To celebrate National Walking Day the Dublin Mountains Partnership Volunteer Rangers will lead this easy paced ‘Intro to Hill Walking’ event in Coillte’s Barnaslingan Woods. This walk is suitable for beginners who would like to try out hill walking. The walk pace will be slow and leisurely. The Volunteer Rangers leading the walk will talk about safety on the hills, basic 1st aid, walking gear & equipment, basic map reading, simple weather awareness and other topics.

The hike route surfaces include, footpaths, gravel trails and forest floor.

Distance: 2.5km approximately.

Degree of difficulty: Easy to moderate.

Bring: Suitable footwear, rain gear, warm layers, water, and snacks.
